There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel compound that contains numerous amenities aside from the gambling hall, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
